AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that challenges usual predictions, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the official release, "A strange confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "strange trials and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a striking scene showing a character, likely the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana together with several objects secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
Earlier Anime Collaborations
This signifies not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime franchises. The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that unmistakably echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
